Passionate, lyrical, dark and witty, the language of Stephen Murray’s poetry is full of baroque, gothic imagery that would not be out of place in a Tim Burton film. His themes vary from child abuse and love to rebellious rants documenting the emotions and experiences of a disillusioned generation, largely ignored by modern Ireland. Murray is an intense performer; powerful, musical, rhythmic, often controversial, but ultimately charming.

Neil McCarthy has been described as being witty and perceptive, using great communication skills to draw the listener into his poetry. He is quick to stress that delivery, voice, poise and pause are all essential to make a reading/recital an enjoyable experience for the audience. His poetry can take us from the foothills of the Andes to the bright lights of Hong Kong. McCarthy’s poetry is both lyrical and absorbing.
